Visual Field Testing
A simple test, with detailed results
Visual Field testing provides your Prairie Eye Care optometrist the ability to evaluate your peripheral vision as well as optic nerve function.
This test can be performed in a few different ways, most commonly with a computerized machine or more simply doing a finger count with one eye closed.

CHANGES TO THE VISUAL FIELD
Problems within a person's visual field could be due to a number of causes. Your eye doctor can use the information from the visual field testing to diagnose conditions like:

Glaucoma

Macular degeneration

Optic glioma
-
Brain tumor, and others

This test is also important for driver licensings, RCMP, Police, Paramedic and Firefighter applications.
