Dr. Rae Sigurdson, O.D.

Optometrist

Born and raised in Oakbank, Manitoba, Dr. Sigurdson is excited to be practicing in her home province. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science. Prior to pursuing optometry, she attended Lakeland College, where she played collegiate volleyball, winning a national championship and earning induction into the ACAC Hall of Fame. While competing, she also completed a Bachelor of Science with Distinction from Athabasca University and a Business Administration Diploma with Distinction from Lakeland College.

During optometry school, Dr. Sigurdson participated in a Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity mission trip to Malawi, providing eye care to underserved communities – an experience that continues to shape her commitment to accessible care. She is passionate about the connection between ocular and systemic health and values the important role optometrists play within a patient’s broader healthcare team. With a special interest in dry eye management she is dedicated to staying current with advancements that improve patient outcomes.

Her approach to care focuses on building strong patient relationships and providing personalized, comprehensive care for all ages. Outside the clinic, she enjoys reading, running, golfing, and spending time at the lake with her family and dog.
